OLJ Now Offering Doctoral Internship Opportunities
Are you mentoring a doctoral student interested in learning the inner workings of scholarly publishing?
The Online Learning Journal (OLJ) is now offering a limited number of volunteer internship opportunities for PhD students who wish to gain first-hand experience with the academic publishing process.
Through weekly collaborative meetings with OLJ editors and staff, interns will:
-
Read and analyze research manuscripts prior to publication, focusing on the alignment of research questions, methods, and analysis.
-
Learn to identify and evaluate the qualities of high-impact scholarly writing.
-
Participate in editorial discussions about research design, rigor, and contribution to the field.
-
Contribute to written feedback provided to authors based on team evaluations.
This internship offers doctoral students a unique opportunity to:
-
Observe the full publication process from submission to editorial decision.
-
Strengthen their own research and writing skills.
-
Build connections with senior scholars and journal editors.
-
Gain valuable professional experience with the highest-ranked journal in the field of online learning.
Interested faculty mentors or doctoral students can contact the OLJ managing editor, Carrie Lewis Miller, at carrie.miller@onlinelearning-c.org for more information about these opportunities.
