Notice on Third-Party Submission and Authorship Services

2026-04-03

The Online Learning Journal (OLJ) has recently become aware of third-party websites and services that claim to offer manuscript writing, authorship placement, and submission assistance to academic journals, including OLJ.

We would like to clarify the following:

  • OLJ does not partner with, endorse, or work with any third-party manuscript writing, editing, or submission services.
  • All manuscripts must be submitted directly by the author(s) through our official submission system.
  • All authors must be listed as contributors at the time of submission, and changes in authorship will only be accepted under rare conditions using extensive documentation.
  • All communication regarding a submission will be conducted only with the submitting author using the contact information provided in our system.

We strongly advise authors to exercise caution when engaging with external services that:

  • Offer authorship positions on pre-written manuscripts
  • Claim to guarantee publication or expedited review
  • Request payment for submission or editorial processing outside of official journal channels

Such practices may violate established standards for authorship, research integrity, and publication ethics.

Please note:

  • OLJ does not charge article processing fees (APCs) or submission fees.
  • Any communication requesting payment or providing submission confirmation from non-official domains should be treated as suspicious.

To ensure the integrity of the scholarly record, OLJ follows internationally recognized publication ethics guidelines and may decline or retract submissions that involve undisclosed third-party involvement or misrepresentation of authorship.

If you are unsure whether a communication is legitimate, or if you believe you have been contacted by a party misrepresenting OLJ, please contact us directly through our official website (https://olj.onlinelearningconsortium.org/index.php/olj).

We appreciate your commitment to ethical research and publishing practices.
